Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 2026
The German version of this Accessibility Statement is authoritative. This English version is provided for convenience and transparency only.
1. Objective
I want this website to be as accessible, understandable and usable as possible — regardless of device, browser, input method, visual ability, motor ability or technical environment.
This website is a personal portfolio and professional profile website. Although not all statutory accessibility requirements applicable to public bodies or certain commercial digital services may apply to a private portfolio website, its design voluntarily follows recognised principles of accessibility.
2. Orientation
The website is intended to follow the core principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines:
- perceivable,
- operable,
- understandable,
- robust.
The aim is to achieve the best possible compatibility with WCAG 2.2 at Level AA where this is practicable for a visually and interactively designed personal website.
3. Implemented or Intended Measures
This website is intended to take the following measures into account in particular:
- semantic HTML structure,
- meaningful heading hierarchy,
- keyboard operability of central functions,
- visible focus states,
- sufficient colour contrast,
- responsive presentation,
- understandable link texts,
- alternative text for relevant images,
- reduced motion when the system setting “prefers-reduced-motion” is active,
- avoidance of information conveyed solely by colour,
- readable font sizes and line spacing,
- clear navigation,
- understandable language in legal and functional areas.
4. Motion, Animations and Visual Effects
This website deliberately uses visual effects, animations, WebGL elements and interactive transitions.
I endeavour to design these effects in a way that does not unnecessarily impede use. Where reduced motion is enabled or on less powerful devices, animations are reduced, disabled or simplified where technically possible.
Nevertheless, individual visual effects may be strenuous for certain users.
5. Known Limitations
Despite careful design, the following limitations may exist:
- individual animations or visual effects may not be fully accessible in every situation,
- complex interactive components may behave differently depending on screen reader or browser,
- older browsers may show display deviations,
- embedded third-party content, such as forms or analytics scripts, is not fully within my technical control,
- individual images, icons or decorative elements may still have incomplete alternative text,
- highly experimental layouts may cause minor usability or readability issues on rare device sizes.
The interactive map is a supplementary presentation. The core location information remains available as text and can be understood without using the map. Accessible controls and a clearly identifiable close option are provided where possible; however, the operability of external WebGL maps may vary by browser, device or assistive technology.
6. Contact and Feedback
If you notice accessibility issues, I welcome your feedback.
Please describe as specifically as possible:
- the affected page or URL,
- the device used,
- the browser,
- assistive technology, if relevant,
- what did not work,
- which improvement would be helpful.

7. Handling of Notices
I review incoming notices carefully and try to remedy justified issues within my technical and organisational possibilities.
As this is a personal website, no fixed response or processing deadline can be guaranteed. I will, however, endeavour to review notices in a timely manner.
8. Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is not a one-time state but an ongoing process. Accessibility is reviewed again when major design, content or technical changes are made.
